Cajon, the site of the old Santa Fe station in the heart of Cajon Pass, sits at the 3,100 foot (945 meters) elevation, and the snow is not usually very deep here. But on occasion, it can get pretty snowy here, as seen in this photo of an Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe freight descending the Pass and approaching Cajon behind SD45 5545 (ex-ATSF 1845) and a pair of U36Cs (8712 and 8745). There is even heavier snow at Cajon Pass' Summit, some 700 feet (213 m) higher. (Cajon Pass, California – December 30, 1974)
