Richardson Station Restoration. On Saturday, February 25, 2023, when Webb Rail's former Union Pacific Railroad Budd built Pullman 10-6 slpr "Pacific Union" (WEBX 800640) and former New York Central Railroad Budd built Pullman obs/diner/slpr "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) were holding the markers on Amtrak Train 54 (Vermonter) as it passed over through Holyoke, Massachusetts. The Henry Hobson Richardson 1883 Connecticut River Railroad Station (later Boston and Maine Railroad Station) on the right at the corner of Lyman and Bowers streets has been closed to railroad passengers for decades, but after years of dormancy, hope for survival is real. The property was purchased by a company that announced there would be significant improvements to the building, and recently a tour was conducted for the public. The current Amtrak station, with its well lighted high level platform, is located only a few hundred feet away.
