Brooklyn Army Alco Terminal. Early on the morning of Tuesday, October 17, 2023, NYNJ Rail headed out of their yard and up 1st Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. For this move, Knoxville Locomotive Works built NYNJ 5101 (KLW SE10B) was paired with KLWX 253 (MK TE-47-4E, ex-MRS 253, S4m, née MRS 208, S2, Alco). The 253 has been on an extended assignment to the New York City side of the operation and is normally the spare power kept on the New Jersey side of New York Harbor. The power set paused for a moment at the gate for the Brooklyn Army Terminal before beginning their day.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
