Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train Q-ATGLAC6-18V (Guaranteed Service Intermodal; Atlanta GA to Los Angeles CA; with 93 cars – 80 of them loaded – stretching for 8,927-feet) crosses Lemon Street as it approaches the Fullerton Transportation Center on an autumnal final day of summer. Leading this train is one of Norfolk Southern Railway's 45 SD70ACU diesels, NS 7309. This is the former Union Pacific SD90MAC 3620, originally UP 8142. (UP classed these as SD9043MACs, but that is not the builder's designation.) This locomotive was built by EMD in April 1997, and rebuilt by Norfolk Southern and EMD into SD70ACU 7309 in August 2016. The two BNSF diesels working with NS 7309 are ES44C4 8365 and ES44DC 7241, proving a combined 13,100 horsepower. (Fullerton, California – September 22, 2023)
