Remarks & Notes
With its 63 km, the Yellow Train (Train Jaune/Le Canari) route that goes from Villefranche-de-Conflent – Vernet-les-Bains/ to Latour-de-carol – Enveitg, also known as the Train Line of Cerdanya, serves 21 train stations, 8 of which are obligatory stops (Villefranche-de Conflent, Olette, Fontpédrouse Saint-Thomas-les-Bains, Mont-Louis, Font-Romeu, Saillagouse, Bourg Madame and Latour de Carol / Enveitg), and the others are optional “on request” stops (also called Railway Stops). It is a fun and memorable way to discover the territory of the Natural Regional Park of the Catalan Pyrenees in open or closed wagons, depending on the season. The train is running on 1 meter gauge and operated with 850 V DC from thrid rail, maximum grade of 6.0 %. All the motive power is that of the line's origin, with the exception of the two Z 150 railcars delivered in 2004. It is fitted with Leduc-Lambert automatic couplers. The Z 100s were built by SACM in Belfort and by the Carde workshops in Bordeaux. They were renovated between 1963 and 1968 at the Marseille Prado workshops, then between 1984 and 1988 at the Béziers workshops, when they were painted canary yellow. Their maximum speed is 60 km/h. Here railcars Z # 111 and # 118 with there trains are crossing in Mont-Lois-La Cabanasse station on 1512 meter a.s.l.
