Remarks & Notes
The Livingston Helpers are heading back to Livingston after shoving a coal train to Bozeman. Hard to believe this SDP40-2 is still working tonnage for the MRL in 2022. The unit is paired with a pair of SD70ACe's in helper service that were built around 40 years later in 2005/2013. The 290 started off as the GN 321 (SDP40) built in 1966. Then the unit was renumbered into the BN's passenger series as #9851, and later renumbered into the freight series as #6395. The unit was wrecked in 1988, and went to the MRL where it became a MRL 290 as a SDP40-2XR. Definitely seen its history and paint schemes over the years.
