Remarks & Notes
Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's Summerville (TVRM) Steam Excursion's resumed this year for the first time in almost 5 years. After the announcement a few weeks ago that they were going to resume the excursions and they were going to run the first train as a double header (two steam engines) I decided to go up and chase the train to Summerville. Here we see two former Southern Railway steam locomotives leading the train as they cross the Chattooga River in Trion Georgia. Leading the train was Southern 630 a consolidation 2-8-0 Ks-1 class built by Alco in 1904 and trailing was Southern 4501 a Mikado 2-8-2 Ms Class built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1911. Hearing these two steam engines work together was a nice treat and a welcomed sight by many.
