On the afternoon of July 7, 2023, Montana Rail Link EMD SD70ACe Nos. 4318 and 4404 pull a Helena to Bozeman turn westbound past the old Milwaukee Road bridge spanning the Missouri River at Lombard, Montana. During the bridge rebuild at near Reed Point that severed MRL’s main line from June 24 to July 22, the railroad operated several different trains to serve their local online shippers. I wonder if the big roads like BNSF or UP would do this for their customers, or would they just say they are having a “service disruption” and leave it at that.
