| Super-sized Summer Shuttle.
New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R46 no. 5898 (Pullman-Standard, 1975-1978) is the lead motor on a Rockaway Park-bound S train seen crossing Beach 95th St/Cross Bay Blvd. Typically the Rockaway Park shuttle operates 4-car R46 trains between Rockaway Park-Beach 116th St and Broad Channel, but on summer weekends it is expanded to 8-car trains between Rockaway Park and Rockaway Blvd, providing better connections for beachgoers. |
