"Smoked Out Mafersa"

On the morning of July 22nd, 2023, CTrail (CTDOT) hosted a simulated grade crossing emergency response drill at Meriden Yard along the MRS (Hartford) Line in Meriden, Connecticut. The drill gave several local first responders the opportunity to practice and learn on live railroad equipment. In this photo, a firefighter makes his way through the interior of one CTrail Extra 6499's smoke-filled Mafersa coaches.
