On the afternoon of July 29th, 2023, a work train, led by Amtrak MP15DC 539, drops stone on the freshly realigned super-elevated curve on the northeast side of the Warehouse Point (Connecticut River) Railroad Bridge in Enfield, Connecticut on the MRS (Hartford) Line. This train is the first train in decades to travel over the north side track of the bridge. The north side track was abandoned during the 80's as a cost cutting measure, but was recently rebuilt by Amtrak & the Connecticut Department of Transportation in efforts to completely re-double track the Hartford line. With traffic shifted to the north side, crews will be able to focus on refurbishing the south side.
