Framed. Amtrak Southwest Chief (Train 4) was approaching the searchlights at MP 682.7 in Maxwell, New Mexico on April 14, 2022 as the train was viewed through a maze of insulators, wires, and fencing next to Interstate 25, a little over 20 miles from its next stop in Raton, New Mexico. Webb Rail's former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built Pullman dome/slpr 313 (WEBX 801044), former Northern Pacific Railway Budd built dome/coach 549 (WEBX 801045), and former New York Central Railroad Budd built Pullman obs/diner/slpr "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) were holding the markers as the train travels through this area of vintage signals. While the semaphores catch most of the attention of railfans, the searchlights will eventually fall as wells as they have recently in so many other places.
