Anticipation. A small group of passsengers watch with anticipation as a southbound East Broad Top mixed train enters the station platform at Rockhill Furnace, PA. Although primarily taking empty hoppers back to the coal fields, this train also has a combine at the end of the consist, which will take these folks to their destinations to the south.
This image was captured at the EBT depot in Rockhill Furnace, during an April, 2023 photo shoot featuring the newly restored Mikado Locomotive #16, which had not run since EBT closed down as a common carrier in 1956.
A look at the one-time coal-hauler, which ran as a tourist railroad for decades and finally ceased operations in 2011. The album includes photos from an October 2010 charter as well as images from the very last Fall Spectacular in October of 2011.
