Photo Special On The Naugy. On Saturday, June 24, 2023 the Railroad Museum of New England operated a rare afternoon photo excursion that traveled all the way from Thomaston, Connecticut to Watertown Junction, which is beyond where passenger trains would normally travel. This offered a number of great and unusual scenes to photograph along the way. The power for the day, NAUG 2019 (née-NH 2049, FL9, EMD, 11/1960) and NUAG 859 (née-NW 859, GP9, 6/1959), were run around the consist for the return trip, enabling 2 separate views of the railroad. Thank you to everyone who came out from the railroad to support the event and everyone who attended to support the museum!
Arguably the signature shot of the south end of the line, the train was posed on Chase Bridge in Thomaston, Connecticut for the photographers to shoot at a leisurely pace from a number of angles.
