On March 6, 2022, the farewell trip with the motor cars 1-4 of the Rigi Railways took place. The cars were built in 1937 (Bhe 2/4 #1 - #3), 1938 (He 2/2 #18) and 1953 (Bhe 2/4 #4) for the then VRB (Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn). In 2022 they were replaced by the new articulated railcars Bhe 4/6 #41 - #46. The day after the farewell trip, motor car #3 was the first to be taken out of service. Today, motor cars #1 and #2 are still in occasional use, mainly in winter for snow removal. Locomotive #18 still occasionally hauls freight trains to Rigi Kaltbad, since the new articulated railcars cannot haul freight cars.
