BN 986, formerly GN NW5 no. 186, sits on a snowless January day in 1973 at Minneapolis between assignments. This was GN's first of 10 NW5s, built in December 1946, and retired by BN on April 29, 1982. It was sold to Colorado & Eastern July 30, 1982 and later to Denver Terminal Ry.
