BN 6102, former GN SD9 575 built in February 1954 takes a rest at Belknap St. Yard roundhouse in Superior, WI while mate BN 6110, now in green gets a turn on the turntable. SD7s & SD9s were the backbone of dieselization of GN's iron ore operations based out of here along with F units as they replaced steam in the 1950s. They would continue into the early 1980s on the BN. A few would make it to the BNSF in 1995.
