Remarks & Notes
Looks Like Grand Central to Hartford Direct. But not really as MTA Metro-North Railroad Train non-revenue deadhead train 5792 is turning for 5388 on the platform at the Harlem-125 Street Station in New York, New York on the night of Monday, March 27, 2023. CT Rail GP40-3H 6699 (ex-CSX 2189, exx-SBD 6280, née-CRR 2009, GP38, EMD, 4/1967) is being leased to Metro-North to help cover Danbury and Waterbury Line shuttles while the railroad's fleet of BL20GH Brookville engines are bring rebuilt. The locomotive has been brought to the Croton Harmon shops for inspection and repair prior to being released for road testing of those modifications. It became available after the commencement of electric MU M8 service on Shore Line East by Amtrak/Connecticut DOT created a surplus of diesel locomotives for Hartford Line service on its roster, and others may be added as well. This is just about the closest that an EMD GP40 will ever to make it to Grand Central Terminal, as this model is banned from the narrow clearances of the terminal and previously not been allowed at all on third rail territory.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
