Remarks & Notes
Long Island Classics. Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) M3 no. 9885 (Budd, 1984-1986) is the lead unit on a 10-car Atlantic Branch train seen approaching Nostrand Ave Station. Unlike some of its recently-reinstated brethren, 9885 has not received new paint on the front bonnet and is showing some wear from the nearly 40 years it has been operating!
