SAN BERNARDINO CA Sept 6 1983 — Santa Fe GP35 3447 is tied down with shop buildings in the background. EMD built the unit (s/n 30592) in October 1965 as ATSF 1447 and delivered it in blue body with yellow ends (Bookends). Between March and July 1970 in the general renumbering it became ATSF 3447. Sometime after December 1980 it was repainted to blue body with yellow warbonnet. In May 1984 it was rebuilt in either Cleburne TX or San Bernardino CA as a GP35u with air conditioning. It was renumbered to ATSF 2947. After the Burlington Northern Santa Fe merger Sept 22 1995 it became BNSF 2647. It was actually renumbered and relettered for BNSF 2647 on March 10-11 2000. My photo.
