Manhattan Terminals.
New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R160A no. 8605 (Alstom, 2005-2010) is seen about to depart Essex St Station on the Nassau Street Line, from where it will cross the Williamsburg Bridge into Brooklyn. Seen in the background, unusually well lit, is the former Williamsburg Bridge Trolley Terminal, which served as the terminus for trolley service over the namesake bridge from 1908-1948. Similarly, Essex St Station serves as the M train's terminus on weekends.
