Reroute CSX M518-19 (Birmingham,AL-Nashville,TN) is running under the symbol of X918 is underway after swapping crew at Wauhatchie. There has been an influx of freight traffic being diverted up the eastern route of the CSX Southeastern Corridor within the last couple of days. An incident involving a barge colliding with the lift bridge in Decatur, AL has forced Norfolk Southern to close the section of the bridge down for inspections and repairs. To avoid traffic disruption, CSX had to profile most of it’s critical intermodal, and slow freight traffic up to Atlanta to Nashville via of the Western & Atlantic and Chattanooga Subdivision.
