A little over an hour after sunset, northbound manifest train MSHKC-17 rolls across the bridge over the Elk River in Ginger Blue, MO on a clear and cool Wednesday, January 18, 2023 evening. Just a couple of hours earlier, the KCS business train cruised through here, but I was stuck at work and missed the opportunity to catch it. I already had all the equipment in the car with me though, so I decided to go out and try to shoot something anyway. Luck was on my side as KCS 4006 - the veterans unit - was second in the consist and lit up nicely with the strobes.
A rail tribute to the Canadian Pacific as it was before. The KCS as it was then and now, the combined CPKC system as it continues growing today. All credit goes to the original photographers and their talents. Many thanks for your efforts. Please enjoy
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
