| Four-Track Terminal.
A Manhattan-bound F train is seen entering service at Jamaica-179th St Station on the Queens Blvd Line. This terminal is unique in the NYC Subway as it is the only terminal with two express and two local tracks where all services on the line terminate (as opposed to Church Ave where the G terminates but the F continues). This is because the Queens Blvd Line was planned to go much further beyond 179th St, with express trains continuing local to Little Neck Pkwy some 4 miles further east (as the crow flies). R160B car no. 9172 (Kawasaki, 2005-2010) will lead the train on its 45-station run to Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. |
