A Pair Of Pairs. An unusual double-headed Amtrak Train 49 (Lake Shore Limited) was passing over Annsville Creek in Peekskill, New York as the sun set on Saturday, January 7, 2023. The Phase III painted duo of AMTK 700 and 703 (P32AC-DM, GE) will take the train to the Albany-Rensselaer, New York station where the consist will be coupled to the Boston Section (Train 449) and P42DCs will take the train to Chicago, Illinois. In the background are 2 silos of the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, New York, idle since the plant was closed on April 30, 2021.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
