| Return of the Metropolitans.
Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) M3 no. 9924 (Budd, 1984-1986) is seen leading a Port Washington Branch train through Woodside, Queens. In the background can be seen the 61st St-Woodside Station on the Flushing Line of the NYC Subway - where I was hoping would be a train...
The M3s were largely retired by the arriving M9 cars and the fleet had been sidelined due to decreased ridership as a result of the pandemic, but have recently re-entered service as ridership picked up and the M9 contract was delayed. |
