During the reconstruction of the Domat/Ems station of the Rhaetian Railway, this very special track swivel was installed. From Chur to Domat/Ems, the left track of the double track is a triple track (standard and meter gauge) to allow a standard gauge access to the large industrial area of the Ems works. From Chur to Domat/Ems, the 1 meter track is arranged on the right side of the standard gauge. In the station, a new, higher platform has now been built and the distance from the platform edge to the sliding step of the passenger vehicles would have become too large to meet the requirements of the Disabled Persons Equality Act. Therefore, the 1 meter track had to be swung to the left side of the standard gauge track in the area of the platform edge. Here, the standard gauge track swings to the left again and shortly thereafter turns left to Ems Werk. The new built crossover on the right in 1 meter gauge is built for 80 km/h when changing track.
