Timber! Just north of Bay City, OR and only yards from Tillamook Bay, Polson Logging Co. Mikado #2 eases past stacks of freshly cut timber on a little-used section of former Southern Pacific track. The sight-lines created by the fallen timber highlight this beefy log-hog in her natural environment, that being the woods of the Pacific Northwest. This image was captured during a 2022 photo shoot, organized by Lerro Photography, on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad. It featured Polson #2, a privately-owned locomotive, which had been visiting here for several years. Alas, when this photo was taken, the engine was participating in its last event here and would shortly be departing for a new home on the Albany & Eastern Railroad in Lebanon, OR.
