Tin Mill after five. Just after 5 PM, the Black Hills Central's last passenger run of the day tops Tin Mill Hill, crossing Old Hill City Road on the east bound trip to Keystone, SD. As you can see, the shadows are long at this time of day, but the light is very nice. Locomotive #110, pictured here, is my favorite power on this railroad, because she tends to provide a little smoke on the steep grades, and the grades don't come any steeper on this line than Tin Mill Hill. Unfortunately, her stablemate, the #108, is usually smokeless right here.
