| Brand new hydrogen powered regional train "Flirt H2" built by StadlerRail in Switzerland for the californian Metrolink, on the way back from the Innotrans exhibition in Berlin to Erlen/Switzerland, in Konstanz. The train is destined for the Redlands Passenger Rail Project for the line between Redlands and San Bernardino. The power pack accommodates the entire hydrogen technology, from the fuel cells and batteries to the hydrogen tanks. This means that hydrogen technology is spatially clearly separated from the passenger compartments of the train. In November 2019, SBCTA (San Bernardino County Transit Authority) partnered with Stadler to design and build the first hydrogen-powered FLIRT. |
