Remarks & Notes

NYC Passengers. New York Central E8 no. 4083 (EMD, 1949-1954) is seen alongside the Hickory Creek observation car (Pullman-Standard, 1948), while the conductor tends to some passengers. 4083 was one of three locomotives (two E8As and a E7B) that were painted "Century Green" as part of a test of new paint schemes to replace the Central's iconic lightning stripe livery.
