The reliability of the 62 double-deck IC trains of Bombardier (ALSTOM) "FVD" (long-distance double-deck train) RABDe 502/RABe 502 of the SBB has meanwhile improved noticeably, while the running smoothness is still insufficient, especially when driving over switches. The trains, i.e. about 2/3 of the fleet, are in regular service mainly on the lines IC 1, IC 3, IR 13, IR 70 and IR 15. At Hindelbank, the IC 10709 (IC 709) of the line IC 1 from Geneva airport via Geneva-Lausanne-Fribourg-Bern-Zurich-Zurich airport-Winterthur-Wil to St.Gallen races with 200 km/h over the new line Mattstetten-Rothrist (Bern-Olten). The vehicles RABDe 502 # 018 (IC200) and RABe 502 # 224 (IR200) in multiple control offer nearly 1300 seats, a dining car, business, family, bycicle and baggage areas.
