Remarks & Notes
Diesel Under What Was Wired. Reliable veteran GP35R MNCW 104 (ex-CR 2350, exx-PC 2350, née-PRR 2350, GP35, EMD, 2/1965) was tasked with towing a disabled "maxi-bomb" (7 car Bombardier) set from New Haven, CT to the MTA Metro-North Railroad Croton Harmon Shops on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. The station at Mount Vernon East was created during the Penn Central Railroad era of the New Haven Line in 1972, replacing 2 other low level platform stations. From the time of the electrification of the New Haven Line until the early 1990s, this station was under catenary. The changeover point was then moved from Woodlawn to just west of Pelham, bringing third rail even closer to the Connecticut State Line.
