Remarks & Notes
On May 23, 2019, CATS trolley car 92 has just turned off of Hawthorne Road onto Elizabeth Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina on the streetcar line. Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center is in the background.

In 2004, the City of Charlotte bought three replica streetcars from Gomaco Trolley Company to run on former Norfolk Southern Railway tracks in downtown. Service was on Thursday and Friday evenings and during the day on Saturday. This ran for several years until Charlotte Area Transit System began building the light rail line from downtown to Pineville. Even after the light rail trains began running, the trolley cars ran on the same tracks for several years until CATS authorities decided it was better to concentrate on light rail service.

The trollies were kept though and in 2016 returned to regular service on Phase 1 of the CityLynx Gold Line between Charlotte Transportation Center and Hawthorne and 5th station. Theirservice ended in June 2019 when Gold Line service was suspended to allow for completion of Phase 2 of the streetcar line. They were sold in late 2020 to the Memphis Area Transit Authority for eventual use on the MATA Trolley system.
