Remarks & Notes
A Laurel-bound manifest out of Pasco is on its last leg of its journey as it enters into the darkness of night at Big Timber. With the Crazy Mountains dominating the background, the final reflections of sunlight bounce off of the clouds, creating a subtle pink hue. This was my first glimpse of what the mountains were like on the western half of the United States. Being from Appalachia, the mountains I am used to only seem to get closer together with thick vegetation. Out west, the mountains are bare and there always seems to be a taller one around each corner. What also amazes me is how long light stays in the sky. This specific photo was taken after 10:00pm.

Good Light, Good Scenery, and a Train

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
Nocturnal Nuances & Lights In The Night! (Between Sunset - Sunrise / Sundown - Sunup!)

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
