The M3 is an Electric Multiple Unit or EMU manufactured by Budd. Built between 1982-1985, the M3 is used in the northeastern area of the United States. The Budd M3 operated via the Long Island Railroad & Metro North Railroad. On the Metro North Railroad it is classified as the Budd M3A while on the Long Island Railroad it is classified as the Budd M3
