During the early morning hours of June 27th, 2022, Metro-North Railroad's new self-propelled Engineering Inspection Vehicle, "IC 2020", starts north up Track 23 while performing track geometry inspections at Grand Central Terminal in New York City. IC 2020 was commissioned by Metro-North in 2016 and completed by ENSCO Incorporated in 2020. It features the latest laser, optical and inertial sensor systems to analyze the condition of the rail and track infrastructure, alerting onboard Metro-North engineering specialists to any track anomalies.
