“Hold Your Horses” MMID 3449 leads Maryland Midland’s UBHF, with 50 Lehigh cement loads–west, out of the Monocacy River valley and through the farmland just east of Rocky Ridge proper. Three SD40 2s are pulling, and two manned helpers (MMID GP38-3s2060 and 2061) are shoving on the rear. The helpers aren’t really required right here—but they will be—when the train attacks Catoctin Mountain west of Thurmont on the former WM East Sub.
