Remarks & Notes
2-10-0 freight train steamlocomotive 50 # 4073 of the Bavarian Railway Museum (BEM) in Nördlingen. Two days later, this locomotive was sent to Meiningen for completion. This locomotive was built in 1960 by LKM - Lokomotivbau Karl Marx (Babelsberg) for the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). In the fall of 1980, the locomotive was sold to VEB Stärkefabrik Loitz as a steam dispenser, where the engine was subsequently used to steam potatoes. In January 1984, the locomotive was transferred to the Landwirtschaftliches Instandsetzungswerk (LIW) in Demmin, where 50 # 4073 served as a steam dispenser together with the old-building locomotive 50 955, which had arrived from Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz). In 1990, the two locomotives were acquired by BayernBahn GmbH - the railroad company of the Bavarian Railway Museum in Nördlingen - disassembled for transport and initially taken to Nördlingen (50 955) and Chemnitz (50 4073). In Chemnitz, the running gear of # 4073 was to be completed and refurbished. While the overhaul was still in the planning stage, the DB AG closed the depot and the last of the new 50s continued their journey to the Meiningen steam locomotive works. There, the refurbishment of the running gear began in 1994 in many stages. By the summer of 1997, the frame had been refurbished, followed by other components to further complete the locomotive. In September 2007, the locomotive was still at the DLW Meiningen. The tender of the locomotive (LKM, 143112) was originally coupled to the locomotive 50 # 4011, then to 50 # 3671 and to 50 # 3673. The locomotive was transferred from Meiningen to Nördlingen on October 9, 2008. Until then, the running gear and boiler were refurbished while the tender and the fine equipment remained in poor condition. In 2016, the idea matured to refurbish the locomotive after further completion. After an initial inspection of the boiler in 2017, work began on the steam generator. As a preliminary conclusion of the work, the water pressure test was carried out on April 8, 2022.
