Today's train 200 is using what is possibly the ACWR's only active SD60F, a rare locomotive type in US railroading after CN retired the fleet. ACWR purchased 15 of these locomotives for reasons unbeknownst to just about everyone. Speculation was the units were for an intended expansion which did not materialize. Whatever the reason, almost all examples of this locomotive type on the ACWR are stored at the old shop in Star, NC. Based on some radio chatter, I believe the crew would have been happy if 5521 was among them. Certainly not the green and cream SD40-3s I was seeking, but as you can see, I still took some photos.
