Remarks & Notes
Railcars ABe 4/4 ("TW II") # 47 and # 46 of the Rhaetian Railway in multiple control, in service for the infrastructure nowadays and not for passenger trains anymore, are pulling the Kirow crane KRC 458-2S of the Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group, including the material car Xbk-v # 7712 with a total weight of about 120 ton, from Pontresina over the Bernina pass to Le Prese Incrocio (Cantoniera). The train is on the 7.0 % grade on the Alp da Buond Sur between Bernina Lagalb and Ospizio Bernina and is crossing the upper Ova da Bernina bridge, also called "wild west bridge". The KIROW crane was built in 2001 and has interchangeable bogies for usage on standard or 1-meter gauge. In august 2010, the crane had a severe accident near Fideris when placing a new bridge, it turned over. Before, the bogies and underframe were painted blue, since the rebuilding grey. The company Sersa Maschineller Gleisbau (SMG) has another very similar crane built in 2020, the "KRC 500" for use on 1-meter gauge only. The railcar ABe 4/4 # 47 was built in 1972, is used by the infrastructure, and has a glycol-water spraying device on one pantograph to prevent or minimize icing of the overhead contact line in winter. The railcar ABe 4/4 # 46 of 1965, used by the infrastructure as well, was brought back optical in the appearance of the early 1970', and is intended as a future historic vehicle.
