On the morning of April 26th, 2022, New York New Jersey Rail's "Brooklyn crew" makes their way down 1st Avenue towards 65th Street Yard with 12 decommissioned New York City Transit Budd R32 subway cars in tow. Once at 65th Street Yard, the cars will be loaded onto flatcars for the journey to Ohio for scrapping.

Aside from floating cars between Brooklyn and Greenville, NJ, NYNJ Rail serves customers on both sides. New York City Transit is one customer on the Brooklyn side that requires the railroad to use its historic street-running trackage, which runs down the middle of 1st Avenue within Sunset Park
