Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific Railroad's train LOA32 rolls across Santiago Creek as it crosses from Orange to Santa Ana. This section of its trip from Anaheim to an industrial area in southern Santa Ana has it traveling Metrolink's Orange Sub. While known as the Costa Mesa Local, this train has not actually gotten to Costa Mesa since the rails were torn up some 20 years ago, shortening the trip by 1½ miles. As with so many things in railroading, however, old names stick. Union Pacific GP40P-2 1375 (ex-SP 7602, née-SP 3199) and UP GP60 1083 (ex-UP 1953, née-SSW 9651) have 13 cars (5 box cars, 4 centerbeams and 4 tank cars) in tow.
