Remarks & Notes
Three EMDs, two GEs, and two Alcos lead a westbound train through the former Reading yard at East Penn Junction, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the Alcos are leaving their Allentown home for the last time. Conrail C420 2077 began life as Lehigh & Hudson River 29, while CR RS11 7610 was Lehigh Valley 401. The RS11 will be scrapped in a year, while the C420 will go on to serve the Delaware & Hudson and the Arkansas and Missouri. The cantilever signal bridge and the scale house will also soon disappear from the local scene.
