Remarks & Notes
Built in 1874 by the Rio Grande, the shops and yard at Burnham, located a couple of miles south of downtown Denver, Colorado, were the main shop facilities for the railroad. In this later view on December 7, 2015, Union Pacific locomotives are repaired and serviced in the newer Diesel House opened in 1965. A worker is at a computer terminal, now used during modern locomotive repairs like on these GE AC4400CW-CTE and ES44AC engines. UP closed the historic facility in February 2016.
