Union Pacific train LOA32, the local heading from West Anaheim Yard to southern Santa Ana, has just passed under the 57 Freeway and is passing through the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), the city’s Amtrak, Metrolink and bus station which sits between Angel Stadium (home of the Angels baseball team) and the Honda Center (home of the Anaheim Ducks hockey team). The freight is about to cross the girder bridge spanning the Santa Ana River and, in the process, enter the city of Orange. After working a few industries in southern Anaheim, UP GP40P-2 1375 and GP60 1083 have 8 cars in tow, including three tank cars for Behr Paint in Santa Ana. (Anaheim, California – March 9, 2022)
