Metrolink train 815, making its way from downtown San Bernardino to Oceanside, departs its stop in Orange. Metrolink F125 917, shoving on the rear of the train, is seen under a heavy blanket of smoke from the two-hour-old Jim Fire, which is burning in the Santa Ana Mountains and is named for where it apparently started near Holy Jim Trail. The fire is spreading quickly thanks to vegetation that got a good watering in December and then dried out in January and February, which were nearly rainless. Fortunately for the firefighters, rain is due to hit the area beginning tomorrow night and throughout the next few days. (Orange, California – March 2, 2022)
