Typical practice between Duluth and Virginia, MN is for northbound CN trains to use the DM&IR trackage, which also sees bi-directional ore and limestone traffic, while using the DWP line for southbound trains. They join together at Nopeming Jct. on the south and again at Virginia. This is the only location in between where both lines are visible together.
