Remarks & Notes
Concrete Photo. On the early morning hours of April 28, 2017, Amtrak brought a hi rail concrete truck into Penn Station in New York, New York for the first time, and in fact brought a pair of them. Track 7 was being completely replaced and to that point much of the concrete used was mixed by hand. This was a tremendous efficiency in getting a high quality job done quickly and returning the track to service. And yes, each truck required its own pilot to meet them when they drove on to the tracks as the drivers were not qualified.
