Remarks & Notes
Former SBB locomotive Re 4/4 II # 11173 (Re 420 # 173) of the association Depot und Schienenfahrzeuge Koblenz (DSF) on a transfer run from Zürich Altstetten (Reparaturcenter Zürich Altstetten RZA) to Koblenz, in Wettingen. During several days work, the locomotive was rebuilt with round lower headlights (before there were rectangular headlights), the UIC socket, which was located between the two front windows below the upper top light, was removed and will be relocated to the buffer beam (not yet completed). The handle at the front for the shunting personnel to plug in the UIC cable was removed. The locomotive is now in the appearance of 1970 to about 1998 (not the color yet). The next step will be a repainting in classic fir green, like the locomotive was delivered to the SBB on september 25th, 1970. The DSF took over the Re 4/4 II # 11173, which was never fitted with a cab climatisation, on august 15th, 2020 from SBB Cargo. With 273 units, the Re 4/4 II locomotives formed the largest locomotive series ever procured by SBB. They were delivered between 1964 and 1985 by SLM, BBC, MFO and SAAS. Behind the locomotive is freshly rebuilt former Ed.Waldburger & Co. St.Gallen tank car for the transport of "Spurt" gasoline, Zas 33 85 786 3 302-0 (original number 538 107 P) of DSF. The car was built in 1965 by JMR (Josef Meyer Rheinfelden) and taken over by the DSF in spring 2020 and is used as historic vehicle (no hazard material transport anymore).
